What's New in Santa Teresa 2020!

Josie Green | 01/21/2020

It feels like 2020 is going to be a fun year here in Santa Teresa, with lots of new exciting things happening!  There are some interesting new restaurants opening up, as well as some lovely new shops that are definitely worth a visit.  Here is a short list of some of our favorite new culinary establishments and boutique shops.  We will be reviewing our favorite new spots in more detail in future blog postst!

Eat Street:

Located on the main street close to Selinas North, Eat Street is an interesting new concept and visually very inviting!  The restaurant is comprised of three separate 'food trucks' (actually converted shipping containers), covered by one huge and high steel-framed roof.  Spacious, comfortable, with delicious food... and you can play petanque while waiting for your food or whilst sipping on a cocktail!

There are two food trucks (Happy Bowls and Nomad Tex Mex) and one for drinks and cocktails.  Happy Bowls has a menu full of fresh, healthy options - you can choose a delicious salad or a filling bowl (vegan, tuna, mahi mahi, shawarma... and more!).  At the Nomad Tex Mex you can try out some tacos or a buritto - I went for the vegetarian tacos... delicious!

Ani's:

Ani's is a new favorite for us here at the office - because it's a short walk away and is perfect for a quick, healthy lunch!  They are open from 7am everyday, offering delicious breakfast and lunch - smoothie bowls, avocado toast (with sourdough bread), healthy lunch bowls and salads... and of course coffee and smoothies.  The restaurant is super cute, with a beautifully designed space - all white with wood touches and surrounded by tropical plants.  Ani's is located just north of Plaza Kahuna, in front of Zeneidas.  It is defnitely worth a visit!

Dkoko Bikinis:

We are very excited about the opening of the new Dkoko bikini boutique, close to the Green World.  The Dkoko bikinis are gorgeous and a lot of my friends have already been in to get their hands on a bikini or an elegant one-piece.  I am told that, as well as being beautifully designed with high quality materials, these bikinis are perfect for surfing - they stay put, letting you focus on the waves!  I can't wait to go visit the new boutique.

Dkoko Bikinis are the creation of the amazing Costa Rican friends Veronica Wessel and Michelle Rodriguez.  You can learn more about their story and their inspiration here - https://dkoko.com/about-us

This is just a short short-list of the new, exciting places that have opened for 2020. We haven't even mentioned yet the amazing new hotel and restaurant House of Somos, or the new Brukas restaurant that has taken over the famous location of Brisas del Mar, or the new grill house or the new vegetarian restaurant both set to open in the coming months!  We will most definitely be writing about these very soon!
