Costa Rica in the Spotlight... What's All The Hype About? |

As we leave an intense year behind us and launch into 2022, Costa Rica is in the spotlight and in the headlines of many international publications. News articles have been highlighting our beautiful country as one of the top locations to live in the world. So, what's all the hype about? There are many reasons that make Costa Rica a very attractive destination and it is no longer just being featured as a great travel destination, but also as a top landing place to settle down and grow some roots.

International Living kicked off the year by naming Costa Rica the best place in the world to retire - highligthing amongst other things Costa Rica´s great weather, natural beauty, great health care, warm people and the physical and emotional well being that comes from the Costa Rican lifestyle. Just a few days later Forbes named Costa Rica number 1 place to live abroad in 2021, while talking about living the dream and moving to paradise. Other reasons mentioned for the praise were a peace loving democracy, affordable living, great real estate opportunities, natural beauty and progressive vision and culture. On that very same day CNBC also featured Costa Rica at the top of their list for attractive destinations for retirement, they mentioned many of the previous points and added affordable private medical care to the list. Lastly Condé Nast Traveler featured and applauded our very own Nicoya Peninsula and its beauty in their last publication, featuring quality of life and a sense of well being that poeple in cities crave.

It seems Costa Rica and this area of the Nicoya Peninsula is on the minds of many! And with the last year of pandemic, working from home, political tensions and civil unrest, this lifestyle has become more and more attractive and a top priority for many people. In our real esate office we see it daily. As far as life in Santa Teresa goes, many of our friends and clients are now ready to commit to purchasing land or homes. Many poeple who got stuck here during the COVID pandemic are looking to buy. Many clients escaping the city, that are coming from markets like New York City and London feel like Costa Rica is a great value proposition. Our beautiful country offers a high quality of life, spectacular nature, a wide variety of activities, reliable high-speed internet, same time zones for work as the US, high quality inetrnational schools and "pura vida'. As this crazy year finishes and a new year kicks off it is a time of looking ahead at possibiliites, of refocusing on what we really want, a time of taking action and living our best lives.
